The English Mixed Martial Arts Association (EMMAA) has participated in the successful staging of the recent FitXpo in Liverpool.

During the two day fitness, strength and health event at the city’s Exhibition Centre, EMMAA staged open workouts and question-and-answer sessions with MMA personalities. EMMA’s Performance Board and Head of Performance, Paul Reed, was on hand to answer questions from the public relating to nutrition, strength and conditioning, sports therapy and injury management, for combat sports.

EMMAA’s Performance Board and Liverpool John Moore’s University performance sport team collaborated to provide a strength and power testing opportunity for anybody attending the event.  The winner received products from leading brands Box Dry, Neuroptimax and Performance Box Supplements.

English Mixed Martial Arts Association’s President Marc Goddard commented: “EMMAA’s appearance at FitXpo in Liverpool was a brilliant success.

“It created a great opportunity to showcase MMA to the public and to share the exciting progress we’re making as a governing body with the health and fitness industry. I’d like to thank our partners at FitXpo for welcoming us and I hope we can work together again”.

The question-and-answer sessions proved hugely popular with fans and were hosted by EMMAA’s Nick Peet. Nick was joined on stage by Liverpool-based fighters ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann and Paddy’ The Baddy’ Pimblett. Nick also spoke to former UFC-star and BT Sport MMA expert Dan Hardy, as well as EMMAA President Marc Goddard.

EMMAA’s next appearance at a major fitness event will be at the ‘Arnold’ Sports Festival at Birmingham’s NEC. That takes place between 1st and 3rd October, 2021.

The EMMAA National Amateur Invitational tournament will form part of the ‘Arnold’s’ event and will be used as part of the England Youth team selection process, for the 2022 IMMAF Youth World Championships.

FIT XPO is a successful national event which presents the latest trends in fitness, nutrition, training and wellness. It brings together the brightest and the best brands, fitness enthusiasts and thought leaders in the fitness and wellness – all under one roof.
